FuturLab Credits Square Enix for Powerwash Simulator's Success
FuturLab, the Brighton-based developer of Powerwash Simulator, has expressed gratitude towards Square Enix for their role in the game's ongoing success. According to co-CEO Kirsty Rigden, Square Enix's willingness to collaborate on crossover content was instrumental in securing licenses for popular franchises. Rigden noted that the partnership with Square Enix Collective, the game's publisher, allowed them to create content based on iconic IPs like Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy. This, in turn, paved the way for future collaborations with other major brands, including SpongeBob SquarePants and Warhammer. The success of these early partnerships has enabled FuturLab to attract even more high-profile IPs, with Rigden stating that they are now in a position to turn down potential partnerships that would have been unimaginable earlier. TÃmea Edvi, director of indie publishing at Square Enix Collective, echoed Rigden's sentiments, highlighting the freedom and creativity that Powerwash Simulator offers when it comes to incorporating different IPs. With over seven million players to date, the game's success is a testament to the power of collaboration and the potential for innovative gameplay experiences.
