Pikmin 4 Maintains Top Spot for Third Consecutive Month in Japan

For the third consecutive month, Pikmin 4 has secured the top position as the best-selling game in Japan. According to the latest data from Famitsu, the game sold an additional 111,636 copies in September, bringing its total sales to 864,229 units since its release in July. In other news, the PlayStation 5 version of Armored Core 6 slipped to third place, surpassed by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, with 39,845 copies sold during the month. The combined release of Pikmin 1 and 2 debuted strongly at sixth place, selling 23,941 copies. New entries in the charts include Konami's Super Bomberman R2 at twelfth place with 16,021 units sold, and Neowiz's Lies of P on PS5 at eighteenth place with 10,145 copies. In terms of hardware sales, the Nintendo Switch remained the top-selling console in Japan, with 307,447 units sold across its three versions. The PS5 followed at second place, selling 181,056 units. Notably, Microsoft's Xbox Series X|S has reached a milestone of 500,000 players in Japan, thanks in part to the launch of the Carbon Black Xbox Series S, which boosted sales of the platform in the country.
