Polish Game Developers Establish Union to Protect Industry Interests

In response to recent layoffs at CD Projekt Red, a union for game developers has been established in Poland. The Polish Gamedev Workers Union, founded by gameplay programmer Lev Ki and gameplay QA analyst Paweł Myszka, aims to represent professionals across all aspects of the game development industry in Poland. The organisation's mission is to promote job security, fairness, and transparency within the sector. Membership is open to full-time employees, contractors, and others with Polish contracts, but excludes staff at international offices, such as CD Projekt's Vancouver branch. The union's creation was sparked by CD Projekt's announcement of layoffs, which it believes pose a threat to the industry's stability and potential. By unionising, the group hopes to create a stronger voice for workers and promote a more secure and transparent work environment.
