Security Breach at Sony Exposes Personal Data of Nearly 6,800 Employees

The company has notified those affected, informing them that their information was compromised during a ransomware attack perpetrated by the group Clop, which occurred between May 28 and May 30. According to reports from the Office of the Maine Attorney General, the breach was facilitated by a vulnerability in Sony's file transfer system, MOVEit, a flaw that has since been rectified. In response to the incident, Sony is offering credit monitoring and identity restoration services to the impacted individuals. This development comes on the heels of an announcement by Sony just last week, stating that it was looking into claims of another ransomware attack on its systems.
