Housemarque to Establish New Headquarters in Helsinki

Housemarque, the acclaimed developer behind Returnal, has unveiled plans to relocate its operations to a brand-new studio by the end of 2024, with the Finnish capital of Helsinki remaining its base. The upcoming office, developed by Sponda, a prominent Finnish real estate company, promises to be a cutting-edge gaming headquarters. According to Brand Director Mikael Haveri, the new premises will be instrumental in drawing top talent seeking a work environment that fosters creativity and innovation. Spanning over 3,000 square meters, the studio will boast an array of facilities, including a movie theater, wellness areas, a podcast studio, café, floating audio stations, and high-tech meeting rooms. Haveri emphasized the importance of sustainability, noting that the revamped hub will prioritize green initiatives and strike a balance between technological advancements and environmental responsibility. This development comes after Sony Interactive Entertainment's acquisition of Housemarque in 2021, further solidifying the studio's position as a key player in the gaming industry, with a long history of releasing exclusive titles for PlayStation, including Returnal and Matterfall.
