Australian Game Developer Awards 2023: Stray Gods Takes Top Honors

The Australian Game Developer Awards 2023 have concluded, with Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical by Summerfall Studios emerging as the Game of the Year. The game also won awards for Excellence in Accessibility and Excellence in Music. Other notable winners include Moving Out 2 by SMG Studio, which won the Excellence in Gameplay award, and Gubbins by Studio Folly, which took home the Excellence in Sound Design award. PlaySide Studios was honored as Studio of the Year. The Adam Lancman Award was presented to Trent Kusters, director and co-founder of League of Geeks, for his outstanding contributions to the industry. The Empower Award was given to Dylan Bennett and Caitlin Lomax, while Ryan Penning from Waypoint received the Rising Star Award. O'Sauraus Studios won the MIGW Award, which includes mentorship and support from Creative Victoria. The ceremony, hosted by Gemma Driscoll and Harry Jun, was part of Melbourne International Games Week and Game Connect Asia Pacific.
