Chris Metzen Appointed as Executive Creative Director for Warcraft

Blizzard Entertainment has revealed that Chris Metzen will be taking on the position of executive creative director for the Warcraft franchise. This development comes roughly nine months after Metzen returned to the company, where he initially served as a creative advisor for the Warcraft team, marking his return to the studio after a six-year hiatus. In a statement shared on social media, Blizzard expressed that Metzen's primary focus will be on collaborating with the World of Warcraft leadership to develop the next wave of adventures. The statement added, "As a key figure in establishing the foundation of the Warcraft universe, we are excited to have Chris back on our team, helping to shape the future of the franchise." Metzen first joined the video game studio in 1994 and held the position of senior vice president of creative development before his departure in 2016.
