UK Entertainment Sector to Receive €35m Boost from Creative Industries
Creative UK has announced a €35 million investment fund aimed at stimulating growth in the UK's creative industry. In collaboration with Triodos Bank, the Creative Growth Finance 2 initiative aligns with the network's sector vision and the UK government's plans unveiled earlier this year. Key objectives of the sector vision include: expanding creative hubs nationwide to increase GVA by £50 billion, fostering a skilled and diverse workforce to support an additional one million jobs, and maximizing the creative industries' positive impact on society, the environment, and the UK's global reputation. According to Caroline Norbury OBE, CEO of Creative UK, the UK's creative industries have outpaced the broader economy over the past decade, currently generating £108 billion in economic value and employing 2.3 million people. However, a significant gap exists between the growth potential of the country's creative businesses and their access to essential capital.
