Liverpool Studios Unveil GameChangers Initiative to Foster New Talent

Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram has launched the GameChangers declaration, a commitment to nurturing the next generation of game developers. The initiative seeks to establish new collaborations, funding opportunities, and educational pathways to develop talent in the industry. The GameChangers program, an initiative of the Combined Authority's Careers Hub, brings together game studios, educators, and organizations to cultivate new talent in the Liverpool region. Several game studios, including Avalanche Studios Group, D3T, Firesprite, and others, have already signed the declaration. According to Mayor Rotheram, "The region is home to top-notch universities and colleges that can help attract and retain graduates and trainees with the creativity and skills needed to shape the future of the sector. GameChangers is our pledge to support the next generation of video game creators, nurture their imagination, and ensure that together, we can take one of our fastest-growing industries to new heights." The program is calling on all game creators, universities, charities, and industry associations to join the effort, with a launch event scheduled for September 28 at Nova Scotia Liverpool.
