Survey Reveals Cloud Gaming Usage Among Gamers
According to a recent study by market research firm Savanta, approximately one-third of dedicated gamers have utilized cloud gaming services, while 10% of casual gamers have also tried this technology. The study, which surveyed around 12,000 respondents from several countries including Canada, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, the UK, and the US, provides insight into the gaming habits of consumers. Notably, 82% of those who have used cloud gaming services before are likely to do so again, with varying rates of adoption across different countries. The study also found that 70% of respondents primarily play games on their mobile devices, with 52% of this group playing freemium games that offer in-app purchases. A senior executive at Savanta noted that major companies such as Google and Netflix are taking notice of the potential in cloud gaming, with Netflix recently expanding its service to include cloud gaming accessible on connected TVs and laptops.
