Pikmin 4 Retains Top Spot in Japanese Monthly Charts, Surpassing Armored Core 6

For the second consecutive month, Pikmin 4 has secured the top position in Japanese retail sales, successfully fending off new releases, including FromSoftware's Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, which debuted in the Top 30. According to Famitsu's latest data, Nintendo's adventure game sold 235,000 copies in August, bringing its total sales to 753,000. This achievement surpasses the franchise's previous physical sales record, held by Pikmin 3 Deluxe, which sold 660,000 copies. Armored Core 6, released on August 25, took the second spot, selling 163,000 copies, falling short of its predecessor's sales. Meanwhile, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe rose to third place with a month-on-month sales increase, selling 57,000 copies and bringing its total Japanese sales to nearly 5.5 million. The total sales of boxed games in Japan for August were 1.25 million, a 27% decrease from the previous month. Hardware sales also declined by 20% to 530,000 units, with the Nintendo Switch being the best-selling console, selling 334,000 units across its models.
