Nintendo Halts Development of New Content for Mario Kart Tour

Nintendo has announced that it will be discontinuing the creation of new content for Mario Kart Tour, with the game's final update scheduled to arrive next month. In an in-game announcement, the company stated that following the conclusion of the Anniversary Tour, tours will feature content from previous events, with no new additions, including tracks, drivers, karts, or gliders, being introduced after the commencement of the Battle Tour. This decision marks the end of a four-year content development cycle for the game, which has generated significant revenue, with estimated lifetime earnings of $293 million. Despite this, Nintendo will continue to maintain a presence in the mobile gaming market with other titles, including Fire Emblem Heroes, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, and Pikmin Bloom.
