Developer Taken into Custody at Roblox Conference
The Roblox Innovation Awards were cancelled on Saturday after a developer was arrested, prompting the organisers to take action. The event was held as part of the ninth annual Roblox Developers Conference in San Francisco over the weekend. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Mikhail Olson, also known as Simbuilder, was taken into custody on suspicion of having a concealed firearm in his vehicle, as well as possession of armour-piercing ammunition and a large capacity magazine. The arrest was made after security at the conference alerted local police due to an attendee behaving in a disorderly manner. Roblox stated on X, 'We are cooperating with the authorities and everyone is safe. We prioritise safety and this is not the conclusion we had envisioned for RDC.' A spokesperson for Roblox declined to provide further details about the incident to the San Francisco Chronicle.
