Nolan Bushnell Introduces ExoDexa, a Groundbreaking Educational Gaming Platform

Nolan Bushnell, the visionary founder of Atari, has unveiled ExoDexa, an innovative learning platform that seamlessly integrates K-12 curriculum into engaging games. As chairman, Bushnell is joined by Leah Hanes, who serves as both CEO and president of ExoDexa, and also leads the Two Bit Circus Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to STEAM education. ExoDexa's cutting-edge adaptive learning platform empowers students to learn at their own pace through interactive gameplay, exemplified by its flagship game, The Last Explorer. "Our goal is to create an environment where students can learn, engage, and have fun simultaneously, at their own speed," Hanes explained. Recently, ExoDexa expanded its team with the notable additions of Jon Kraft, co-founder and former CEO of Pandora, and Kevin Caldwell, a seasoned video game producer with experience at Riot Games, EA, and Blizzard. Bushnell emphasized, "The future of education lies in gaming. Students absorb information best when they are entertained and engaged, so it's surprising we haven't leveraged this insight more in teaching." He further added, "ExoDexa is committed to bringing gamification and interactivity to the learning process, enabling students to feel empowered and redefine success on their terms." Bushnell has been a long-time advocate for the potential of games in education. In 2009, he expressed his intention to dedicate the remainder of his career to harnessing the power of games as a tool for learning. "I firmly believe the next significant wave of value creation is in education, and games have a profoundly positive impact. I aspire to leave a legacy that extends beyond mere entertainment," Bushnell previously founded BrainRush in 2012, an educational gaming company that later shifted its focus to blockchain by 2019. However, as of the latest information, BrainRush appears to be inactive.
