Introducing the PlayStation Portal from Sony
Sony has announced its latest innovation, the PlayStation Portal, a dedicated remote play system designed for PlayStation 5 owners. This device enables users to play their console games without the need for a TV, using a Wi-Fi connection to their home console instead. The PlayStation Portal features an 8-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution at 60fps, a 3.5mm audio jack for wired headphones, and compatibility with the DualSense controller. Pricing varies by region, with a US price point of $199.99, €219.99 in Europe, £199.99 in the UK, and ¥29,980 in Japan. However, it's worth noting that the device does not support PS VR2 games or cloud-streamed games via PlayStation Plus Premium. The PlayStation Portal is scheduled for release later this year, with more details to follow when pre-orders commence. In related news, Sony has also unveiled two new gaming accessories: the Pulse Elite wireless headset and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds, both boasting AI-enhanced noise-canceling capabilities and seamless connectivity to the PlayStation Portal and PlayStation 5 via the new PlayStation Link wireless audio technology, which promises low latency and lossless audio.
