Veterans from Netflix and XSET Establish Midwest Games
Former Netflix executive Ben Kvalo and XSET veteran Rob Martin have launched a new game publishing company called Midwest Games. The company's leadership team features Jennifer Corbett, previously vice president at Crunchyroll, as chief marketing officer, and Chris Klimecky, former principal producer at ProbablyMonsters, as chief project officer. The advisory board comprises Mark James, former CTO of Striking Distance Studios, and Liz Kuehn, finance director at Meta. According to Kvalo, the decision to establish Midwest Games was driven by the realization that innovation thrives beyond traditional tech hubs, with a focus on supporting underrepresented regions, starting with the Midwest. The company's inaugural title will be Gylee Games' Ra Ra Boom.
