Pokémon Generates $11.6 Billion in Licensed Product Revenue for 2022
According to a report by License Global, The Pokémon Company achieved $11.6 billion in revenue from licensed products in 2022. This figure represents a significant increase of 36.5% from the $8.5 billion earned in 2021. As a result, the company ranked fifth in the Top Global Licensors report and second in terms of brand growth, with an additional $3.1 billion in revenue. The growth is largely attributed to the successful release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, which introduced a new region and characters to the franchise. The launch of the anime series Pokémon Horizons: The Series also contributed to the increase. The Pokémon Company's licensing program encompasses various sectors, including gaming, toys, apparel, and publishing, and the company partnered with new licensees in 2022. Notably, The Pokémon Company was the only gaming-centric company in the Top Ten, with The Walt Disney Company topping the chart at $61.7 billion in profit.
