Xbox 360 Store to Cease Operations in July 2024

Microsoft has confirmed the closure of the Xbox 360 digital store, effective July 29, 2024. Until then, users can continue to buy games, downloadable content, and other items from the store. After the shutdown, 360 console owners will no longer be able to make purchases from the store or the Xbox 360 Marketplace. However, previously purchased Xbox 360 games and content will still be playable on Xbox 360, as well as on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S devices through backward compatibility, according to Dave McCarthy, corporate vice president of Xbox Player Services. Multiplayer features for Xbox 360 titles will also remain intact, provided the publisher continues to support them. Following the store's closure, backward-compatible Xbox 360 titles, original Xbox games, and DLC will still be available for purchase on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox.com.
