Zynga Unveils Its Inaugural Blockchain-Based Game

Zynga has officially announced the launch of its first-ever blockchain game, Sugartown, as noted by VentureBeat. The game operates on the Ethereum network and utilizes ERC-721 Ora tokens, enabling players to participate in minigames and accrue in-game currency. This marks the company's first Web3 project since the hiring of Matt Wolf as VP of blockchain nearly two years ago, shortly before the company's acquisition by Take-Two Interactive. According to Wolf, "Zynga has consistently been at the forefront of innovation, and our goal with Sugartown is to provide players with a sustainable Web3 platform that offers engaging and lasting games." He further added, "We designed Sugartown to cater to the native Web3 market, with the intention of expanding our reach over time while building a dedicated community of holders who will appreciate this experience as much as we enjoyed creating it." Although the exact launch date of Sugartown has not been disclosed, its social media channels indicate that it is "coming soon."
