Activision Blizzard Withdraws Lawsuit Against TikTok Creator

In a recent turn of events, Activision Blizzard has decided to abandon its lawsuit against a TikTok user who had been threatened with legal action over the unauthorized use of an audio clip. The lawsuit was filed last month against Anthony 'The Needle Drop' Fantano, a music critic, after he allegedly demanded a significant amount of money for the use of his voice in a promotional video. However, a court filing reveals that Activision Blizzard has now voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit, effectively dropping all claims. The dispute centered around a clip of Fantano reacting to a pizza being cut, which was used in a promotional video for Crash Bandicoot without his consent. After Fantano threatened to take legal action, Activision Blizzard removed the video but later sued him, claiming he was seeking substantial damages for the use of the audio. The company has declined to comment on the matter.
