Nintendo Switch Reaches 30 Million Lifetime Sales in Japan

In July, Japan witnessed the Nintendo Switch surpassing 30 million consoles in lifetime sales. According to Famitsu's retail data from June 26 to July 30, the console sold approximately 407,000 units across its various models. In comparison, the PlayStation 5 sold around 243,000 units during the same period, with total sales of 4 million units in the country. Nintendo led the software sales with 947,000 boxed titles, followed by Square Enix and Spike Chunsoft. The newly released Pikmin 4 was the top-selling title, with 518,000 units sold, achieving nearly 80% of Pikmin 3's lifetime sales within ten days of its launch. Other notable sales include The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with 92,600 copies and Master Detective Archives: Rain Code with 74,400 boxed copies. Nintendo accounted for 55% of the physical game market, followed by Square Enix at 6.4% and Spike Chunsoft at 6%.
