Twitch Sees 5% Viewership Uptick in July

In July, Twitch experienced a significant surge in viewership, with a total of 1.8 billion hours watched, marking a 5% increase from the previous month, as reported by StreamElements and Rainmaker.gg in their State of the Stream report. This growth trend has been consistent since March, with daily viewership hours reaching 57 million in June and 57.3 million in July. The platform's most-watched games for the month included staples such as Grand Theft Auto, League of Legends, and Valorant, as well as Riot Games' Teamfight Tactics, which saw a notable boost in viewership following the introduction of its new 'soul brawl' mode and patches. The top games on Twitch for the month were: Grand Theft Auto 5 with 139 million hours, League of Legends with 108 million hours, Valorant with 88 million hours, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with 59 million hours, Dota 2 with 56 million hours, Teamfight Tactics with 41 million hours, Minecraft with 38 million hours, Fortnite with 36 million hours, and Apex Legends with 32 million hours. According to StreamElements co-founder Or Perry, 'Twitch's daily hours watched have continued to rise since March, with the platform reaching a new peak in monthly hours, potentially signaling a recovery from the post-quarantine slump, as July's viewership surpassed that of May for the first time in four years.'
