Embracer Announces Closure of Campfire Cabal Studio

Game publisher Embracer is set to close Campfire Cabal, a studio it established nearly a year ago, as part of its broader business restructuring plan. The decision, according to the studio, is based solely on financial factors and does not reflect on the quality of work being done. Campfire Cabal has assured that its team and management remain committed to finding a resolution, with support from THQ Nordic. The studio has advised its staff to explore new opportunities, prioritizing their individual needs. This move follows Embracer's announcement of a restructuring program in June, which included plans to shut down underperforming studios. CEO Lars Wingefors noted that the company's workforce of nearly 17,000 would be reduced by the end of the year, though an exact figure has not been disclosed. When approached for comment, a THQ Nordic representative stated that there was no additional information to share regarding the closure.
