Striking Distance Studios Cuts Workforce by 32 Due to Operational Realignment
The developer behind the 2022 game The Callisto Protocol, Striking Distance Studios, has confirmed the reduction of its workforce by 32 employees. According to reports from IGN, this decision is part of a broader effort to realign the studio's business operations. A spokesperson for Krafton stated, "To position our current and future projects for optimal success, Striking Distance Studios and Krafton have made strategic adjustments. Unfortunately, this realignment has resulted in the impact on 32 employees." This news follows several former employees announcing their redundancy on LinkedIn. The studio had previously released the final transmission DLC for The Callisto Protocol last month. During Krafton's full-year earnings report in February, CEO CH Kim hinted at the company's expansion not meeting expectations, though he did not directly address The Callisto Protocol's sales figures.
