UK Charts See Surge in PS5 Game Sales After Console Price Reduction

A significant spike in PS5 console sales, up by 75%, has led to a notable increase in the sales of PS5 games on the UK physical charts. Hogwarts Legacy experienced a 72% sales boost, jumping from sixth to second place, while Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga saw a remarkable 248% increase, placing it at sixth position. Other games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Gran Turismo 7, and Forspoken also witnessed substantial sales growth, with increases of 345%, 237%, and 84%, respectively, partly due to their inclusion in PS5 bundles offered by retailers during the console's temporary price cut. FIFA 23 claimed the top spot with a 24% increase in sales, while Pikmin 4 dropped to third after a 55% decline. Meanwhile, Mortal Kombat 11 re-entered the charts at seventh, and Red Dead Redemption 2 climbed to 17th due to discounted pricing. New entries, Remnant 2 and Disney Illusion Island, debuted at 16th and 18th, respectively, in the UK boxed charts for the week ending July 29, 2023.
