Hasbro Corrects Statement on Activision's Transformers Games
Hasbro has issued a statement apologizing for an error in comments suggesting that Activision Blizzard had lost the code for its Transformers games. The correction comes after the company initially stated that Activision had misplaced the hard drives containing the games, which were previously available on digital marketplaces before being pulled in 2018 due to an expired licensing agreement. A representative from Activision has since confirmed that the company does possess the code for the games. The confusion had arisen when Hasbro expressed interest in seeing the Transformers games re-released, potentially as part of Microsoft's Game Pass, following the proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The loss of access to these games had also impacted the development of Hasbro's Gamer Edition Transformer line, prompting the company to seek out alternative sources for game assets.
