Twitch Viewership Experiences a 3% Decline in June

In June, Twitch recorded a total of 1.7 billion hours of viewership. This marks a 3% decrease from the previous month, as reported in the State of the Stream report by StreamElements and Rainmaker.gg. Despite the month being shorter, daily viewership hours have consistently increased over the past four months since March. The launch of Blizzard's Diablo 4 on June 5 propelled it to the top of the most-watched games list for June, while Capcom's Street Fighter 6, released on June 2, also garnered significant viewership. Other popular games on Twitch included League of Legends, Grand Theft Auto V, and Valorant. The top games on the platform for June were: Diablo 4 with 156 million hours, League of Legends with 94 million hours, Grand Theft Auto V with 91 million hours, Valorant with 90 million hours, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with 44 million hours, Dota 2 with 43 million hours, Rust with 39 million hours, Minecraft with 38 million hours, and Street Fighter 6 with 35 million hours. According to StreamElements CEO Gil Hirsch, "Diablo IV was the biggest winner on Twitch in June, not only topping the monthly chart but also achieving the largest debut week of the year so far. Compared to last year's releases like Lost Ark and Elden Ring, Diablo IV's performance highlights the enduring appeal of legacy franchises alongside new IP."
