Leading Industry Players Join Forces at the GI Investment Summit During PAX
Several prominent investors and publishers have confirmed their participation in the upcoming GamesIndustry.biz Investment Summit at PAX, set to occur next month. The Seattle Convention Center will host the event on Thursday, August 31st, with tickets currently available for purchase starting at $50 plus a booking fee. To date, over 20 game developers have registered for the summit, seeking to connect with investors, publishers, and platforms such as Agnitio Capital, London Venture Partners, Phoenixx Inc, Skystone Games, Square Enix Collective, TinyBuild, Valve, Whitethorn Games, Ysbryd Games, and numerous others that will be announced shortly. This year's installment, the first since 2019, features a keynote fireside chat with Shawn Layden, former chairman of PlayStation Studios and current advisor to various gaming businesses including Tencent and Streamline Media. Layden's discussion will focus on current trends in the gaming industry, the path that has led to the present, and the future outlook. In addition to Layden, Valve will participate in the event to deliver a live presentation on how visibility functions on Steam. The event's headline sponsor, tinyBuild, the publisher of Hello Neighbor, will also be speaking, with CEO Alex Nichiporchik addressing the importance of emergent gameplay and the industry's scarcity of such games. The remaining speakers will be announced soon. At the core of the event lies a meeting system, where developers, publishers, and investors can network throughout the afternoon. Tickets for the summit are currently on sale, priced at $50 (plus booking fee) for developers and $200 (plus booking fee) for publishers and investors, including lunch, refreshments, and two-day access to PAX West. Developers and publishers exhibiting at PAX can attend the event free of charge by contacting Kevin Brady for registration details. A limited number of sponsorship opportunities remain available; interested parties should contact George Corner for further information.
