Activision Blizzard Reports 34% Surge in H1 Revenue
Activision Blizzard, the renowned creator of Call of Duty, has announced a substantial 34% increase in revenue, reaching $4.6 billion in the first half of the year. The company's mobile revenue also saw significant growth, generating $2 billion in consumer spending during this period. Key highlights from the financial report include: revenue of $4.6 billion, representing a 34.5% year-on-year increase, and net income of $1.3 billion, marking a 97% year-on-year rise. Notably, 73.5% of the company's net revenue came from in-game spending, subscriptions, and other revenues, with 91% of its net revenue derived from digital online channels, totaling $4.17 billion. The company's mobile segment accounted for $2 billion in consumer spending, while PC and console revenues reached $1.26 billion and $1.2 billion, respectively. Furthermore, the company reported that over 10 million users played Blizzard's Diablo 4 in June, contributing to Blizzard's first $1 billion quarter for net bookings. As of June 30, 2023, the company had 356 million monthly active users across its Activision, Blizzard, and King platforms, with King having the most users at 238 million. CEO Bobby Kotick expressed satisfaction with the company's performance, citing strong growth in net bookings, operating income, and earnings per share. The company is also moving forward with its merger with Microsoft, which is expected to be completed soon.
