GamesIndustry.biz HR Summit Expands Lineup with Sumo Digital, Roll7, and Gina Jackson

The GamesIndustry.biz HR Summit has announced four new additions to its speaker lineup. The event, scheduled to take place at BAFTA's London headquarters on September 27, will feature video games industry leader Gina Jackson OBE, who will host a roundtable discussion on male allyship and its role in combating toxicity against women. Jackson, a veteran of the games industry with nearly 300 titles under her belt, will explore practical steps to foster allyship and address toxicity. Joining Jackson is Nisha Minhas, head of people and operations at Roll7, who will share insights on successfully running a remote studio. The developer behind Olli Olli and Rollerdome has maintained a fully remote workforce since its inception in 2007. Minhas will discuss strategies for maintaining a strong company culture in a remote setting. The Education panel will also welcome two new speakers: Dr Jacob Habgood, director of education partnerships at Sumo Digital, and Marcia Deakin, co-founder of NextGen Skills Academy. Habgood, an advocate for game-based learning, has developed several industry-leading educational projects, including Sumo's Academy project. Deakin has worked with games companies across the UK to develop education initiatives, including an apprenticeship scheme with Ubisoft. The new speakers will join a lineup that includes Ubisoft's Chief People Officer Anika Grant, GapSquare CEO Dr Zara Nanu, and former Criterion boss Steve Cuss, among others. The event, sponsored by Amiqus, Lighthouse Games, and Rocksteady, will feature two tracks and conclude with a networking lunch, followed by the 2023 UK Best Places To Work Awards.
