Neopets has officially announced its transition to an independent entity. This significant move was revealed through a statement outlining the company's fresh direction and goals. Previously operated under JumpStart Games, the web-based gaming platform was shut down last month. Despite operating at a financial loss for over a decade, Neopets secured $4 million in investments in 2023, which will be utilized to revamp the brand. The company expressed its enthusiasm, stating, "As a unified team, we are committed to transparency and community-driven development, focusing on creating games that our Neopets community will truly enjoy, by closely listening to user feedback." Furthermore, the announcement confirmed that the World of Neopets mobile game will not feature NFTs or cryptocurrency technology.
