Game Pass Core to Replace Xbox Live Gold

Microsoft has confirmed the upcoming launch of Xbox Game Pass Core, a rebranding of Xbox Live Gold, scheduled for September 14. The service will be priced at $9.99 per month or $59.99 annually, offering access to a multiplayer network, over 25 games, and exclusive deals. According to Jerret West, corporate vice president and chief marketing officer at Xbox, "The introduction of Game Pass Core marks the end of Games with Gold. We saw this as an opportunity to reimagine the content included with the subscription, opting to feature select titles from the Xbox Game Pass catalog for a more compelling offering." Existing Xbox Live Gold users will be automatically transferred to Game Pass Core in September without incurring any additional costs. This announcement follows news of a price hike for the Xbox Series X in several countries, which was reported last month.
