Genshin Impact Faces Allegations of Late Payments to Voice Actors

Brandon Winckler, a voice actor known for roles in Master Detective Archives: Rain Code and Monster Hunter: Rise, has publicly accused Genshin Impact of failing to pay him for his work on the game. According to Winckler, he has been waiting for months to receive payment, despite sending multiple emails to the relevant parties. Winckler expressed his frustration on Twitter, stating that it is inexcusable for voice actors to have to wait so long for payment, especially given the game's significant revenue. He suggested that games like Genshin Impact should be unionized to protect the rights of voice actors. Winckler has stated that he will not work on the game again unless it becomes a union production. In response to the allegations, a representative from HoYoverse claimed that the company has always paid on time and has reported the issue to the relevant studio. This is not the first time that Genshin Impact has made headlines, with the game generating $3.7 billion in mobile consumer spending since its launch in September 2022.
