EA Unveils Details for EA Sports FC 24
EA recently hosted a keynote where it shared updates on its newly rebranded football game, EA Sports FC 24. The presentation began with CEO Andrew Wilson recounting his childhood as a football enthusiast, highlighting the company's long-term goal of connecting with one billion football fans worldwide. During the event, EA Sports president Cam Weber announced the company's plan to invest $10 million in community-level football initiatives globally, aiming to inspire young players through partnerships with various organizations. The keynote featured appearances by several former and current professional footballers, including Alex Scott, who revealed that EA Sports FC 24 will include the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga and Liga F, Spain's top women's football league. Notably, women's football will be integrated into Ultimate Team for the first time. Scott also mentioned that EA Sports FC has secured an exclusive multi-year agreement to represent all clubs and stadiums in the FC portfolio. Nick Wlodkya, senior vice president and general manager of EA Sports FC, introduced several new features, including FC Pro, a competitive esports platform, and FC Tactical, a turn-based mobile game. Although the name FIFA was not mentioned during the presentation, Wlodkya emphasized the company's focus on innovation and building upon its 30-year foundation of innovative gameplay. The cover athlete for EA Sports FC 24 was revealed to be Erling Haaland, and the game is scheduled to release on September 29. The rebranding of EA Sports FC comes over a year after EA and FIFA ended their nearly 30-year partnership, which was reportedly due to FIFA's request to double the licensing cost to over $1 billion for each four-year World Cup cycle.
