Xbox Introduces Enhanced Voice Reporting Functionality

Microsoft has unveiled a new safety feature for Xbox users, enabling them to report in-game harassment during voice chat sessions. The feature allows Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One users to record and submit 60-second voice clips that violate community standards for moderation review. The process involves capturing and saving a clip, submitting it for review, and awaiting a decision. Captured content will not be shared or appear in recent activity and will remain on consoles for 24 hours. According to Dave McCarthy, Corporate Vice President of Xbox Player Services, the new feature targets in-game chat, where players often interact with others outside their friend network, aiming to create a more comfortable and supportive multiplayer environment. McCarthy emphasized that Xbox's work on safety features is ongoing, with voice reporting being a key aspect of their community safety initiatives.
