Behaviour Interactive Establishes New UK Studio with Former AntiMatter Games Team

Canadian game developer Behaviour Interactive has launched a new studio in the UK, located in Truro, Cornwall. The inaugural team at Behaviour UK South comprises former staff members from AntiMatter Games, which was shut down by its parent company EG7 earlier this year. Rich Barham, AntiMatter Games' former CEO, will serve as the general manager of the new Behaviour studio, which currently employs 40 people and plans to expand its workforce. According to Wayne Meazza, EVP of Behaviour's Services division, the decision to establish a studio in Truro was influenced by the town's high quality of life and the opportunity to support the local games industry. Meazza noted that Behaviour was drawn to the AntiMatter team due to their experience and skills in developing first-person shooters, but emphasized that the studio will not be limited to working on a specific type of project. Instead, the team will focus on distributing development across various projects, leveraging their diverse talents and expertise. The opening of Behaviour UK South follows the acquisition of SockMonkey Studios in February, which has been rebranded as Behaviour UK North. The company now boasts over 1,200 employees worldwide, with studios in Toronto, Seattle, and the UK. Meazza highlighted the benefits of having two UK-based studios, citing the ability to work locally in the same time zone, while also emphasizing the importance of collaboration among all Behaviour studios at a global level. Both UK studios will operate within Behaviour's services division, working on games for other publishers and developers, and contributing to the growth of the local games industry.
