US Gaming Trends: Ethnic and Racial Groups

According to the ESA, certain ethnic groups in the US are more inclined to engage in gaming activities. Notably, 79% of Hispanic adults and 77% of Black Americans participate in gaming, followed by 67% of Asian/Pacific individuals, and 62% of white Americans. In terms of gender, 53% of men and 46% of women in the US are gamers. A survey of over 4000 participants found that the typical gamer is 32 years old and has been gaming for 21 years. The ESA president and CEO, Stanley Pierre-Louis, emphasized that games offer more than just entertainment, providing opportunities to develop skills and mental stimulation. The research also showed that 96% of Americans view video games as beneficial, recognizing their potential to foster problem-solving skills, teamwork, communication, conflict resolution, and leadership.
