Former Q-Games Team Members Launch Denkiworks

Denkiworks, a new independent game studio based in Kyoto, has emerged from stealth mode. Founded by Taku Arioka, Liam Edwards, formerly the game director at Chuhai Labs, and programmer Jan de Graaf, all of whom previously worked at Q-Games on the Apple Arcade title Pixeljunk Scrappers, the studio is now working on its inaugural project. Codenamed Project Tanuki, the game is being developed using Unity and is slated to be unveiled at a later date. According to the studio, the goal is to create unique, indie titles that blend Eastern and Western influences. Edwards expressed his enthusiasm, stating that the team has been tirelessly working on their first title, drawing inspiration from their experiences living in Japan as both expats and natives. He described the project as 'a love letter to the country and its culture,' capturing an idealized vision of Japan's picturesque landscapes, which have been immortalized in art and media for centuries.
