Scopely Takes Over Tag Games
Scopely has made a significant announcement, revealing its acquisition of renowned mobile game developer Tag Games. This strategic move is set to further diversify the publisher's gaming offerings. Founded in 2006, Tag Games boasts an impressive portfolio, including notable titles such as Pocket Mortys, CSR2, and Angry Birds Action. As a result of this acquisition, the 60-strong team at Tag Games will become part of the Scopely family. This development comes on the heels of Scopely's $50 million investment in Omnidrone, Pixel Toys, and Tag Games back in 2021. According to Scopely's statement, the decision to merge was driven by the desire to foster a deeper collaboration, with both parties believing that a combined entity would yield even greater strength.
