Unity Severs Ties with AI Partner Amid Asset Theft Allegations

Following accusations of selling stolen assets, Unity has terminated its partnership with Atlas 3D Asset Creator and removed it from the Unity Asset Store. In a recent Twitter post, Unity stated, "We've removed Atlas from our @AssetStore as they violated our terms and conditions. We are actively reviewing all verified solutions providers in the AI category as we remain committed to upholding the quality of our ecosystem." Atlas 3D Asset Creator was one of Unity's ten AI-driven solution partners introduced earlier this week. However, shortly after the announcement, Twitter users expressed concerns that Atlas was not generating original content but instead offering assets taken from the 3D modeling platform SketchFab. A software developer, Mirza Beig, discovered a model of a black cat from the game Murdered: Soul Suspect on the Unity Asset Store, which had a description stating, "I've been really lazy lately so ofc this isn't mine" and a link to the model on SketchFab. The remaining nine asset store partners continue to be available on Unity's site.
