Nintendo Aims for Seamless Transition to Next-Generation Console

Nintendo's president, Shuntaro Furukawa, has stated that the company's goal is to ensure a smooth transition for its customers to the next-generation console. This statement was made during a recent shareholder meeting, where Furukawa addressed questions about backwards compatibility and upcoming hardware. He noted that a significant number of customers have been purchasing digital software for the Nintendo Switch, resulting in a higher ratio of digital sales compared to previous consoles. Furukawa expressed the company's intention to continue offering innovative gaming experiences through dedicated consoles that combine hardware and software. The Nintendo Account system, introduced in 2016 and currently used by over 290 million customers across various devices, is expected to play a key role in facilitating a seamless transition to the next-generation console, allowing customers to continue using their accounts without interruption.
