EA CTO: Human Talent Will Always Surpass AI Capabilities
According to EA's chief technology officer, Marija Radulovic-Nastic, generative AI is poised to revolutionize the gaming industry, but it will not come at the cost of human jobs. Speaking at the Collision conference, Radulovic-Nastic emphasized that AI will serve as a tool to enhance human creativity, rather than replace it. She expressed optimism about the potential of generative AI to accelerate idea generation and content creation, citing examples where tasks that previously took months were reduced to mere weeks or even minutes. Radulovic-Nastic acknowledged the importance of establishing clear guidelines for the use of generative AI, which is why EA is currently focusing on its application in the ideation phase of development. She also highlighted the potential of generative AI to enable user-generated content, which she believes will be a significant aspect of the gaming experience, particularly for Gen Z. Furthermore, Radulovic-Nastic discussed the impact of cloud gaming and the metaverse on the industry, noting that while cloud gaming will complement traditional gaming methods, the metaverse, along with VR and AR, will continue to evolve with advancements in technology.
