Original Call of Duty: Warzone to Cease Operations
Activision Blizzard has announced that it will discontinue the original Call of Duty: Warzone on September 21. Launched in 2020, the free-to-play battle royale game was later rebranded as Warzone Caldera following the release of Warzone 2.0. As a result, development for Caldera will come to an end, with the team redirecting their focus towards creating content for the current Warzone. According to Activision, any purchased content from Warzone Caldera, including items from Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War, or Vanguard, will remain accessible within those respective games. The shutdown of Warzone Caldera will not affect gameplay, inventory, or player progression in Al Mazrah or other available maps in the current Warzone.
