Black Game Developer Fund Commits $1 Million for Fourth Consecutive Year

As the Black Game Developer Fund enters its fourth year, the organizers have announced that they will be investing $1 million into projects created by Black game developers. This investment, made in partnership with Humble, aims to empower independent Black creators by providing them with the necessary funding to bring their games to market. Additionally, the fund will offer support through mentoring, networking opportunities, and marketing efforts. Since its establishment in 2020, the fund has successfully financed more than 40 games. In the past year alone, nine new projects received financial backing from the BGDF. The fund's operating team will continue to be advised by Justin Woodward and Sithe Ncube, along with its other members. Some notable games that have launched in the past year with the support of the BGDF include Grid Force: Mask of the Goddess by Playtra Games, Distraction Machine by Miscellaneum Studios, and Protodroid Delta by Adam Kareem. Adam Kareem, one of the first members of the BGDF, recently secured a publishing deal with Humble, and his story and the development of Protodroid Delta were featured in a recent interview.
