Twitch Sees 1.76 Billion Hours of Viewership in May
In May, the popular streaming platform Twitch achieved a significant milestone with 1.76 billion hours of viewership. This marks a 5% increase from the previous month, as reported by the State of the Stream monthly report from StreamElements and Rainmaker.gg. The top games on Twitch remained consistent, with League of Legends, Valorant, and Grand Theft Auto V leading the pack. Following its release on May 12, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom amassed an impressive 37 million hours of watch time. The most viewed games on the platform for the month are as follows: League of Legends with 124 million hours, Valorant with 102 million hours, Grand Theft Auto V with 94 million hours, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with 87 million hours, Minecraft with 59 million hours, World of Warcraft with 52 million hours, Dota 2 with 50 million hours, Apex Legends with 39 million hours, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with 37 million hours. According to StreamElements CEO Gil Hirsch, 'May has historically been a stronger month for Twitch than March, but after a post-pandemic decline last year, the platform seems to be returning to its usual pattern, which is a positive sign.'
