Xbox Series X Console to Receive Price Adjustment

Microsoft is set to introduce a price hike for the Xbox Series X in several countries, starting from August. According to a report by The Verge, this change will not apply to the US, Japan, Chile, Brazil, and Colombia. The updated prices, effective from August 1, include £479.99 in the UK, €549.99 in most European markets, CAD $649.99 in Canada, and AUD 799.99 in Australia. Notably, these new prices closely align with the price adjustments made by Sony for the PlayStation 5 back in August 2022. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S will maintain its current price. Additionally, the Xbox Game Pass subscription service will undergo a price revision across multiple markets next month, marking its first price change since its launch in 2017. The base subscription will now cost $10.99 per month in the US, up from $9.99, and the ultimate subscription will increase from $14.99 to $16.99. This news follows Microsoft's previous price adjustments, including the increase in Series S|X costs in Sweden a few months ago, the update in Japan's current-generation home console prices in February, and the announcement of a price increase for first-party Xbox games from $60 to $70 in December 2022.
