Geoff Keighley Addresses Diversity Concerns at Summer Game Fest
Geoff Keighley has responded to criticism regarding the limited diversity at this year's Summer Game Fest. In a conversation with CBC, Keighley stated that his team generally strives to do well in terms of diversity, acknowledging it as a valid concern. He emphasized the importance of authenticity in presenting games and their developers. Keighley revealed that actress Melanie Liburd, who plays the role of Saga Anderson in Alan Wake 2, was initially scheduled to appear on stage but was unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts. Had she been present, she would have been the sole female representative among the seven individuals featured, including Keighley, who were all male. Keighley will have the opportunity to improve diversity at his upcoming show, Gamescom: Opening Night Live, which is set to take place on August 22 in Cologne.
