Senegal's New Gaming Hub Secures €300,000 Investment

A significant investment of €300,000 has been made to establish a cutting-edge gaming hub in Senegal, marking a major milestone in the country's gaming industry. This investment is the outcome of a strategic partnership between the French Embassy in Senegal and renowned game studio Masseka. The funds will be utilized to create a pioneering 'hybrid project' that combines an incubator and a development studio, with the overarching goal of enhancing the gaming sector and cementing Senegal's status as a premier hub in West Africa. Beginning in September, local game developers will be invited to undergo training at the hub, receiving a salary throughout the program. The initiative also involves the participation of game studio Kayfo Games, which will provide technical support, and the Senegalese government organization DER F/J, offering office space in central Dakar to house the new hub. Additionally, the Occitanie Region in France has expressed its commitment to joining the initiative, although the specifics of its involvement have not been disclosed.
