Abrial da Costa, a Seasoned Veteran of Don't Nod, Takes the Helm as Playdigious' New CEO

Playdigious is undergoing a significant reshuffle in its executive team with the appointment of Abrial da Costa as its new Chief Executive Officer. Da Costa, who has served as the Chief Business Officer at Don't Nod since 2014, will succeed the current CEO, Xavier Liard, effective July 3, 2023. Liard, co-founder of Playdigious, will continue to work with the company's parent firm, Fragbite, in the capacity of Senior Strategy Advisor. Additionally, Romain Tisserand, the company's CTO and co-founder, will step down from his role to lead Playdigious' new Research and Development department as its Head. Liard stated, "Romain and I are proud to pass the baton to Abrial, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Playdigious. Over the past year, I have focused more on advising at the group level, which has led me to take on this new challenge." Da Costa remarked, "Following nearly nine years of driving Don't Nod's business strategy, participating in its initial public offering, and overseeing three strategic capital rounds, I am thrilled to join the Fragbite Group. "I had the opportunity to work with Romain and Xavier in the past and have admired the tremendous work they and their team have accomplished since the inception of Playdigious. I am eager to propel the company forward and contribute to the growth of the Fragbite Group." Earlier this month, Playdigious announced the launch of its new publishing division, which will focus on releasing independent titles for PC and console platforms. The studio, which previously specialized in mobile ports, was acquired by Fragbite in 2021.
