Krafton Establishes Relu Games, a New Studio Focused on AI-Driven Game Development
Krafton has officially launched Relu Games, a new development studio that will concentrate on harnessing deep learning technology to create innovative gaming experiences. The studio, which was inaugurated on June 1 and unveiled recently, will be led by MJ Kim, formerly Krafton's senior director of investment and partnership. Kim previously headed the company's Special Project 2, an internal initiative centered on integrating deep learning into game development. This project, which spanned three years, will now evolve into Relu Games. The studio's inaugural title, Foonda: AI Puzzle, promises to deliver a highly personalized experience through its use of AI-generated puzzles and deep learning technology. Scheduled for release on mobile devices in Q3, Foonda marks the beginning of Relu Games' journey. With the establishment of Relu Games, Krafton now boasts 11 internal studios. The company recently announced its Q1 2023 financial results, reporting a 3% year-over-year increase in earnings, with consumer spending reaching $408 million.
